SUMMARY:The power of language for outreach
DESCRIPTION:&\;nbsp\;Mobility is both a significant challenge and an opp
ortunity for many researchers. In this event we will look at some of the
ways in which the use of language influences our research and builds up s
cientific societies\, and also at how\, when used in outreach activities\
, it can have positive impacts for communities.We will first hear from Jo
ana Moscoso\, founder and director of Native Scientist (https://www.nativ
escientist.com/)\, a non-profit organisation that connects scientists and
children through their native language. We will continue the conversatio
n on organised scientific diaspora and the heritage language through shor
t presentations and a roundtable discussion. The final discussion will be
followed by a quick lunch and an informal networking session.- What: tal
