Because academics are unde r pressure to deliver research excellence\, high-impact publications and funding and the hierarchical and dependence of the relationships\, academ ia is a propice environment for sexual harassment. Join us for a conversa tion about sexual harassment and the consequences of unbalanced power dyn amics in academia. We will frame the discussion around mechanisms that ha ve been developed at the institutional level to prevent and penalize sexu al harassment\, and other non-institutional mechanisms that exist to supp ort and help victims.&\;nbsp\;Two international experts will provide t heir knowledge and perspective on this topic: Dr. Claudia Schwarz-Plaschg and Dr. Ana Vidu. Claudia is a visiting researcher in the field of scien ce\, technology\, and society studies at the University of Edinburgh. She will share how her research on science and power dynamics intertwines wi th her activism.
