Support from early-career researchers to ‘Standing up for Science EU’ is now more important than ever, and it is crucial that their voices are heard in public debates about science and evidence.

In June 2017, MCAA joined the first ‘Standing up for Science EU’ workshop in Brussels, to give early career researchers the tools and insights to inform policy, and have a stronger voice within the EU. This workshop was hugely over-subscribed, and received very positive feedback from both partners and participants, In the light of this success, the MCAA is participating in a second ‘Standing up for Science EU’ workshop, at the University of Warsaw, on Friday 10th November 2017.

In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Marie Skłodowska Curie’s birth, the MCAA will take part in the event “L’eredità di Marie Skłodowska-Curie a 150 anni dalla nascita”, which will take place in Rome on 10th November 2017.

This event will be organised by the Ministry of Education, Universities, and Research Organisations in collaboration with the European Commission, and the Research Executive Agency, and will involve the MCAA Italy Chapter.

This event will be also dedicated to the impact of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Programme on MC researchers’ careers, and to the recently-adopted policy for the recruitment of Marie Curie Researchers at Italian universities and research institutions. They will be able to directly recruit the winning fellows for a tenure track professorship thanks to a new Italian Ministerial Decree (D.M. 965 – 12/2015).
