BSB Webinar: EIT Health Supporting Your Transition from Science to Business

Webinar: In this session, hosted by the EIT Health Alumni Network, you will find out how EIT Health can help to bridge the gap between Science and Business. Laura Suhlrie, Business Creation Manager at EIT Health will provide an insight into the EIT Health Bootcamps, a tailored programme suited to researchers from many different disciplines who are looking to make the leap into entrepreneurship. Then Andrew Cameron, Founder and CEO of FeelTect, will reflect on his experiences with EIT Health, his own transition from science to business, and will share his entrepreneurial journey.

 

Speakers: Laura works as Business Creation Manager at the EIT Health Accelerator. In her role she oversees the Bootcamp activities which support early stage entrepreneurs to validate their problem-solution and product-market fit as well as further develop their business plans. Before joining EIT Health she was involved in economics of prevention research at OECD. Laura has a Bachelors‘ degree in Economics and a Masters’ degree in Public Health.
Andrew is the founder and CEO of FeelTect, the start-up company developing Tight Alright. He previously worked as a Commercialisation Lead at Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), supporting the innovation pathway for several medical technologies, and is a BioInnovate Ireland alumni, focusing in the area of cardiovascular medical device innovation. Andrew, who has a PhD in Tissue Engineering, is a former Research Fellow in the Tissue Engineering Research Group at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), where he primarily worked on clinical corneal regeneration applications. Andrew’s company, FeelTect, was recently announced as the winner of the senior start-up category at the EIT Health Fellowship Network Showcase 2020. FeelTect’s mission is to disruptively improve wound care by developing connected-health solutions to enable safety, efficacy and empowerment.
