MCAA Chapters and Groups

Chapters & Groups

The MCAA has promoted the creation of Chapters in different geographic regions as a way of facilitating communication with its members and engaging them in the development of the association. MCAA Chapters are established to:

  • Encourage local networking and establish mutually-beneficial relationships between the MCAA and its alumni within a defined georgaphic zone;
  • Initiate activities that add value to the Alumni network and input to the general body;
  • Recruit, attract, support and facilitate connections between MC fellows and alumni;
  • Sponsor and support activities that will enhance the image of MCAA.

The purpose of the Summer School is to provide an intensive and comprehensive review of current knowledge of precipitation, considering in particular its remote sensing retrieval from radar and satellite. Also, the formation mechanisms and structure of precipitation and predictability issues will be discussed. It is primarily addressed to PhD and Master students in atmospheric sciences and professionals from regional and national meteorological agencies.

Second AGILE pre-conference workshop on Open Data for Open Cities (OD4OC)

The second edition of the OD4OC workshop will be held as a pre-conference workshop at the 21st Conference on Geo-information science (AGILE 2018) on the 12th June in Lund Sweden. It will feature presentations from the European Data Portal and ESRI Research and Development Centre. Four short papers will be selected from submissions for presentation at the workshop and subsequently submitted to a special issue of the Journal /Information/ of MDPI for publication.

This annual event takes place in Lindau, Germany.

The 2018 event will be held on 24-29 June 2018, and is dedicated to physiology/medicine http://www.lindau-nobel.org/meeting/

About 30 Nobel Laureates and 600 international young scientists are expected to take part.

As in previous years, the European Commission, as an academic partner, has the opportunity to nominate a limited number of Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellows to participate in this meeting.

We are offering four study visits: three to the EPO Munich (on 2018-02-22, 2018-06-21, and on 2018-10-11) and one to the EPO The Hague (on 2018-03-20).
 

The aim of these study visits is to raise and increase awareness of the European patent system among students in all fields at European universities, and among other interested people.

Professor Beining Chen's D3i4AD EU Project will be hosting the D3i4AD Final Conference in Bari, Italy on 29th June 2018.

Delegates are invited to attend the D3i4AD Final Conference to hear about Diagnostic and Drug Discovery Initiatives for Alzheimer's Diseases, as presented by our Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions (MSCA) research fellows. 

Delegates will also have the opportunity to do a three-minute flash oral presentation to accompany their poster presentation!  When they register, delegates can upload an abstract and/or poster for our consideration.
