MCAA Chapters and Groups

Chapters & Groups

The MCAA has promoted the creation of Chapters in different geographic regions as a way of facilitating communication with its members and engaging them in the development of the association. MCAA Chapters are established to:

  • Encourage local networking and establish mutually-beneficial relationships between the MCAA and its alumni within a defined georgaphic zone;
  • Initiate activities that add value to the Alumni network and input to the general body;
  • Recruit, attract, support and facilitate connections between MC fellows and alumni;
  • Sponsor and support activities that will enhance the image of MCAA.

Prisoners of war and Human Rights in Europe before Geneva: 17th-19th centuries
Simon Robinson's picture

Between the 17th and 19th centuries, new political conceptions of Human Rights developed. In a context of effervescence of political and philosophical conceptions and conflicts, through the contributions of recognised experts in the field from different countries, we will come to know how they affected those who were also almost anonymous protagonists in armed conflicts: the prisoners of war.

BSB-Webinar: Why Science should look at Silicon Valley
Simon Robinson's picture

Our guest speaker, Fran Cardells, will describe the best practices from the world's most innovative companies, including Google, Facebook or Apple. Silicon Valley is the poster child for commercial success, workplace reputation and societal impact, therefore scientists look for a start-up model to extend the impact of their research: through commercialisation, entrepreneurship, or fundraising.
