Project Officer (ECS) - Closed
Location: Remote
Job type: Possibility of service contract or freelance
Contract duration: Position subject to project duration, starting from as soon as possible till April 2024, renewable based on the performance.
What needs to be done
- Fulfilling & Communicating project activities
- Contribution to policy brief,, assessing state-of-the-art, synthesizing outcomes into policy briefs and developing indicators and metrics to monitor and drive Research Career Framework
- Recruitment of MCAA members for project activities (training events, training pilots, consultations, surveys)
- Monitoring and evaluating project activities
- Project reporting (technical and administrative)
- Contribution to the exploitation of project results
- Partaking in online project meetings and selected presence consortium meetings
- Co-creation of follow-up projects, grant submissions and activities
What we expect
- Relevant degree (Minimum: Master degree level; PhD is a plus)
- Good Understanding of the Citizen Science Concepts
- Good communication and networking skills
- Good Understanding of the Research Ecosystem, Open Science and Researcher Career Development
- Understanding of the working process of MCAA or relevant researchers organization
- Experience in event organization
- Experience with dissemination activities (research networks, including writing short articles, mail and social networks and potentially social media skills with applications, such as tweetdeck)
- Experience in project evaluation (survey design, delivery, and analysis)
- The readiness to join an interdisciplinary team to work on developing new initiatives in doctoral support and education
What we offer
- MCAA service contract for one year, starting as soon as possible and renewable till the end of the project, based on the performance
- Daily rate (based on the candidate's qualification): 300-420 Eur (gross) including VAT, taxes & all relevant costs
- Flexible working hours (depend on project activities), approx 35 days per year including travel (if needed)
- Being part of a growing International Network and interdisciplinary research team focussing on researcher career framework

About European Citizen Science (ECS) Project
MCAA is taking part in the recently funded ECS project with 21 partners from Europe. The objectives of the project are:
- Empowering the European citizen science community through co-design and co-creation
- Strengthening the links and collaborations between existing citizen science initiatives
- Increasing the participation of citizens from all walks of life in citizen science through an inclusive approach
- Building the capacity to conduct excellent research and innovation through citizen science
- Raising awareness, supporting and mainstreaming citizen science among new actors, new territories and scientific fields
- Better aligning data infrastructures to the needs of citizen science, and improving open science practices employed by citizen science initiatives
