Jack Clegg receives the 2018 Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year

Last night Prime Minister and the Minister for Science presented the 2018 Prime Minister’s Prizes for Science to ten outstanding researchers, innovators and teachers at a dinner in Parliament House, Canberra.

Associate Professor Jack Clegg will receive the Malcolm McIntosh Prize for Physical Scientist of the Year. 

He completed my undergraduate studies in Chemistry, History and German at the University of Sydney graduating with a University Medal, before completing a Bachelor of Laws and PhD in Chemistry at the same institution, then made extensive contributions towards university life during that time which was recognised by the award of the Convocation Medal. During the same period, He spent time on the board of the Australian Youth Orchestra and a regional Credit Union in NSW, then spent two years on a prestigious Marie Curie Fellowship at the University of Cambridge where he was also a Director of Studies at Emmanuel College. He returned to Australia to join The University of Queensland in 2012. He became an ARC Future Fellow in 2014, and was awarded a 2015 Queensland Young Tall Poppy Award. He is a Lindau Nobel Winners Meeting Laureate.
