Migration and Modernity: Historical and Cultural Challenges - PhD Programmes

The University of Kent are delighted to be part of the five-institution consortium which is administering MOVES: Migration and Modernity: Historical and Cultural Challenges. This EU-funded European Joint Doctorate programme allows PhD candidates to split their 3-year doctoral programme between two institutions. Doctoral candidates will also do a six-week work placement with a non-academic partner of the programmes. Applications accepted from 15 January; deadline is 15 February 2019.

In this innovative interdisciplinary programme (Social Sciences and Humanities), candidates will study contemporary migration in historical and literary perspective - drawing on historical and literary phenomena to understand today's migration challenges. There are 15 topic areas; you will submit applications to two.

The funding is underwritten by the UK government paper about the Interim Arrangements during the transition period.
