The New Secretary General of EuroScience is ....

Mr Matthias Girod has been appointed by the EuroScience Governing Board to succeed Dr Peter Tindemans as EuroScience Secretary General. Mr Girod will officially join the EuroScience office in Strasbourg on 2 May 2019.

Following studies in chemistry at Philipps University of Marburg (Germany), Mr Matthias Girod began his career as a researcher at the BAM - the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing in Berlin. He then moved to Trieste (Italy) where he worked as Project Officer for the Central European Research Infrastructure Consortium (CERIC).

The EuroScience Governing Board expresses its heartfelt thanks to outgoing Secretary General Dr Peter Tindemans for his decisive role in developing the visibility and impact of EuroScience, and for his major contributions to the promotion of research and innovation, both within Europe and globally.
