Potential collaboration of MCAA-NI with TEDx Torino

Dear Board, Communication working group MCAA, MCAA-NI members

 
This is regarding potential collaboration of MCAA-NI chapter with TEDxTorino (an organization which organize independent TED events (below is the website)) to organize events together as 'Supporter'.
 
 
We are in final talks with their representative (Kristen Meiburger, VP, TEDxTorino) to come on an agreement for the joint collaboration as 'Supporter'.
 
Benefits for MCAA from this collaboration:
 
1. It will improve image of MCAA by collaborating with very active self-motivated pool of talented people (organizers of TEDxTorino and their potential invitee speakers) residing in the northern Italy region and attending their events in Torino. The logo of the MCAA will be on their broucher and you tube video.
 
2. It will provide a platform where MCAA-NI members can meet during their events and take benefits of their resources like Hall, food etc and organization experience (which will be cheaper in comparison to individual event organize by MCAA-NI in Turin for the cost of food and Hall). 
 
3. Highly talented MCAA-NI members can also become potential speaker in one of the event of this reputed society (upon selection and voting procedure), overall helping in personal development and growth of the fellows.
 
4. It promotes networking and potential discussions on various opportunities like jobs, collaborations, academic-industry partnership.
 
What MCAA have to offer:
 
Supporter status (4 events, one event every 6 month, potential collaboration for 2 year):
- 400€ ( 100 Euros per event) with 2 'reserved seats' and free entrance for other members (usually tickets are available online, 100-150 members per events)

I think it is a good idea, at least to try.

It is not expensive (it means investing 200 euros/year) having also the possibility to get free entrances (the investment will return just with the free food for the MCAA members :-) ). Apart jokes, I think it is a good opportunity for sharing ideas, networking and organizing MCAA chapter meetings with additional value given by the TEDx discussion as external seminar. Moreover, I have seen that TEDx is partner with local administrations and private companies, this could be an opportunity also for the chapter to get connections and future partnerships. I support the idea Shikhar!

Dear Shikhar,
 
I think your idea of partnering with TEDx Torino is a great and brilliant one. The P2 budget for Communication Working Group is scheduled to commence 1st of June 2015 and  elapse May 2016.
 
I am open to including this request alongside other scheduled events subject to the approval of the ExCom of MCAA. In light of this, kindly provide your proposal justifying in five to six lines why this event should be sponsored with a cost estimate therein on or before 10th of May 2015.
