Dear all, the MC ITN call has been published last week. Please take a look to the documents (https://ec.europa.eu/research/participants/portal4/desktop/en/opportunities/h2020/topics/2056-msca-itn-2016.html), check if you are eligible as beneficiaries, partners or researchers (esr or PhD students) and try to understand what contribution you could give to the proposal. The deadline for the call is the 12th of January 2016. The topic should be something like Climate change impact assessment, mitigation, adaptation and communication Please send me your email with a private message so that we can create a mailing list which is easier to be managed. Please give your feedbacks within the 31st of October so that we can organize a Skype meeting at the beginning of November for structuring the proposal and starting writing a draft. Hi Riccardo, I saw your post now. Is someone taking the lead on this project?

I work on marine regime shifts (se them issue below, which I designed and for which I served as Editor), and there is a lot that can be done either in terms of ecological understaning or of socioeconomical impacts. If you are doing something on this call, or know someone who does, please let me know.

Ecological regime shifts, are abrupt changes in ecosystems structure and functioning. They can be explained with the theory of nonlinear systems crossing critical thresholds, suddenly bringing unexpected, system-wide, dramatic changes. These shifts can carry significant socio-economic impacts and losses of ecosystem services, for example when they involve fisheries collapses or reef degradations, and as such interest scientists and managers alike, as highlighted in a special issue on marine regime shifts on Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B and numerous other publications. They have been found in all environments (terrestrial, lacustrine, marine). In the marine realm regime shifts have been reported in multiple habitats worldwide, from benthic reefs to pelagic ecosystems. It is likely that we will experience more frequent and more encompassing regime shifts as the predicted climate change scenarios progress.  Future ecosystem management approaches should therefore incorporate knowledge on critical thresholds.

Well, I think that my university is not interested in an ITN (they had previously some invitations) and myself I am not eligible anymore :( sorry.

However, if you are in Rome and can contribute to a workshop on Water as hazard and water as heritage, you are welcome. I will organise it in June.
