Fernando Josa Prado
Fernando Josa Prado is a molecular and cell biologist working at the intersection of neuroscience, translational research, and science policy. He is a two-time Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow, most recently completing a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Turin, where he led research on SUMOylation pathways in myelin biology and neurodegeneration. He has over 18 years of research experience across leading European institutions and has contributed to fields ranging from RNA biology and microtubule dynamics to oligodendrocyte biology and remyelination. Alongside his scientific work, he is actively engaged in research policy and assessment. Since 2019, he has served as an expert evaluator for the European Commission’s Research Executive Agency and has contributed to multiple EURAXESS initiatives on researcher career development. He is also a board member of Fundación Gadea Ciencia and an advisor to Fundación Madri+d on internationalisation and university rankings. His work focuses on promoting a virtuous academic culture through fair, responsible, and impact-oriented research assessment, as well as mental health and career development awareness, and mentorship initiatives.
