Shahin S Eity

Shahin S Eity is the founder of Aadra, a creative collective, and a smart cities and urban policy professional with an interdisciplinary background in architecture and urban and regional planning. As an Erasmus Mundus Scholar in Smart Cities and Communities, he focuses on sustainable mobility, infrastructure systems, and inclusive urban development. His research and publications explore resilience, informality, and sustainable settlements, with work spanning housing, urban informality, and cultural policy. He has presented at international conferences on disaster risk, climate resilience, and urban planning in Global South contexts, and is currently restarting his research regarding cycling and low-carbon mobility in European smart cities. Alongside his professional activities, he serves as Vice President of the Erasmus Mundus Association, following his role as Director of Policy and Quality Assurance. He engages with stakeholders across Europe, contributing to governance, policy dialogue, and international student representation. As an internationally mobile researcher from outside the EU and a proud member of the LGBTQI+ community, he brings a perspective shaped by navigating identity, belonging, and access within academic mobility. His work and advocacy emphasise inclusive research environments, cross-cultural understanding, and equitable opportunities in international education and policy spaces.
