Showcasing Islamic Studies in the UK

The British Association for Islamic Studies (BRAIS) is a learned society and professional organisation focused on enhancing research and teaching about Islam and Muslim cultures and societies in UK higher education.

The Inaugural Conference of the Association will be held in the University of Edinburgh on 10-11 April 2014, and aims at providing a showcase of the range and depth of Islamic Studies—broadly understood to include both Muslim-majority and Muslim-minority contexts, and any region of the Islamic World (e.g. Middle East, South Asia, South-East Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa)—across the UK.
