The future for international research partnerships: responding to Brexit, the Newton Fund and new partnerships
As the UK begins the process of leaving the European Union, this timely seminar will look at priorities for international collaborations and partnerships in research.
Sessions will focus on developing the UK’s international profile in the global research landscape, and the key challenges and opportunities associated with both leaving the EU and developing new partnerships.
Delegates will discuss future involvement in Horizon 2020, availability of European Research Council funding and mobility of researchers. Further discussion will assess next steps for the Newton Fund and its links with new partners and priorities for new research partnerships, including case studies of current collaborative projects outside of the EU, the current state of global partnerships and key concerns from both R&D businesses and academics.
We expect attendees to include university vice-chancellors, pro-vice-chancellors and research directors, international embassies, R&D businesses, catapult centres, research consultancies and others with an interest in this area of policy and practice.
