MCAA:Central Asia - Welcome event

We are delighted to announce our first online get-together that will take place on May 2 at

- 6:00 pm, Astana, Bishkek Time (GMT+06:00)
Our special guests, the Chair of MCAA-EU Mostafa Moonir Sharwav and Members' Engagement Manager of the UK Chapter Maria Magdalena Razalan, will join us in the first half of the event to tell us more about the MCAA and its activities. The second half of the meeting will give us an opportunity for all of us to meet each other, briefly discuss the creation of the MCAA-CA chapter and future events in an informal setting. Mostafa Moonir Shawrav is the Chair of MCAA. Earlier, he was Vice Chair and managed the internal governance & sponsorship. He led the organization of MCAA GA & AC 2019 in Vienna. He is also a founding member of MCAA Austrian Chapter, Research Funding and Events & Networking working group. He was a chair of Austrian Chapter from 2017 to 2018. He finished his PhD and post-docs from TU Wien, Austria. From his masters degree in Netherlands and research experience at Belgium, he gathered experience and established an effective network of peers. His expertise include Science Diplomacy, Non-profit Leaderships, Entrepreneurships and Intercultural Competences. He has organized sessions on on those topics including sustainable research career, supporting researchers mobility at international events including World Science Forum, Vitae Conference, ESOF. He also provides training and Keynote talks on Career Paths for Researchers at universities and research institutions.
Maria Magdalena Razalan, Members Engagement Manager at the MCAA, UK Chapter. Maria Razalan is the Grants Manager at the Academy of Medical Sciences. She obtained her Ph.D. as an ESR from the University of York where she worked on the development of plant-based Cytochrome P450 enzymes. After her Ph.D. Maria had experience working at the nation's prestigious Royal Society for 2 years. Besides her full-time job, Maria has been an active board member of the MCAA UK chapter that currently encompasses over 600 current and former Marie Curie fellows.
