Moving biorefining forward in Europe

The conference “Moving biorefining forward in Europe” will take place from 11 to 12 February in Brussels, Belgium.

This will be an opportunity to present the results of 3 RTD projects EUROBIOREF, BIOCORE and SUPRABIO. These 3 projects aimed to accelerate the development of advanced biorefinery technologies for the integrated manufacture of a range of bioproducts including energy vectors, chemicals and materials. The conference will address themes as:

·        Multi-criteria sustainability assessment of biorefineries and biobased value chains,

·        Feedstock availability and logistics,

·        Feedstock processing,

·        Thermo-chemical conversion technologies,

·        Enzymes and microbial bioconversion technologies,

·        Process designs for advanced biorefineries,

·        Technology transfer and prospects for EU-scale biorefinery demonstrations.

The first day will be dedicated to “Shaping policies for advanced biorefineries” whereas the second will deal with technologies for advances biorefineries.

Policymakers and related groups that will build the policies that will support and regulate Europe’s future biorefinery industry, and industrial players and other groups interested by technology take-up issues are expected to participate.
