# Overview:


The Artificial Intelligence (AI) General Interest Group (GIG) is an inclusive and dynamic community designed to explore, understand, and shape the rapidly evolving landscape of AI in research and beyond. This group is not just for AI experts but for everyone—regardless of your background or level of expertise. In today’s world, AI is becoming mainstream, powering versatile and accessible tools that impact all of us. Whether you’re a seasoned researcher, a curious beginner, or anywhere in between, the AI GIG offers a space for you to learn, engage, and contribute to the ongoing dialogue about the future of research, science, and society in the age of AI.

 

# Objectives:

 

- Informing on AI Evolution: We bridge the gap between AI advancements and their application in various disciplines through accessible resources and discussions.

 

- Training Researchers in AI: We design and deliver targeted educational programs that responsibly empower researchers to integrate AI into their workflows.

 

- Developing AI Tools: By identifying specific research needs, we facilitate developing and testing AI tools tailored for research use.

 

- Advising Policymakers: We provide evidence-based insights to guide institutional and governmental AI policies, ensuring that they align with the realities of research practice.

 

# Regular Activities:

 

- Educational Webinars and Workshops: Covering AI fundamentals, advanced applications, and ethical considerations.

 

- Biweekly Peer Support Meetings: A space for researchers to exchange ideas, share experiences, and discuss AI developments.

 

- AI Media Hub: A curated repository of AI-related scientific papers, blogs, guidelines, and training materials.

 

- Weekly AI Updates: A digest summarising the latest AI trends, relevant resources, and upcoming events.

 

- Collaborations and Networking: Partnering with institutions and organisations, including European Commission units, to support AI-related research initiatives.

- If you are an MCAA member, you are welcome to join the group. Please, request membership through this page AND fill out the Member Information Form, or email us (ai@mariecuriealumni.eu) with your interests.
