2017 MSCA positions available at the Prostate Cancer Lab - IDIBELL
Applications are wellcome to the MSCA 2017 to join the Laboratory of Dr. Alvaro Aytes (www.alvaroayteslab.eu) at IDIBELL and the Catalan Institut of Oncology in Barcelona, Spain. IDIBELL, the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Center (www.idibell.com) is a multidisciplinary biomedical research institute whose activities are organized in thre major areas; Cancer, Neurosciences and Translational Medicine. Witihin IDIBELL, the Catalan Institute of Oncology is the largest comprehensive Cancer Center in Catalunya, with a referral population of more than 3 M people.
Our laboratory is a member of the Program Against Cancer Therapeutic Resistance (www.procure-ico.eu). Our research focuses on studying the mechanisms that lead to aggressive prostate cancer variants and the acquisition of therapeutic resistance and metastasis. We utilize genetically engineered mouse models of prostate cacner as well as tissue and organoid cultures and clinical specimens to identify those mechanisms, to functionally validate them and for preclinical investigations. We have a strong interest on unveling regulatory mechanisms that control dysregulated trancriptional networks linked to malignant phenotypes either through genomic or epigenetic alterations.
We are looking for highly motivated young scientists with a clear orientation to academic research and a track record of early acievements, including previous funding and first authored peer-review publications. Candidates must have a PhD in life sciencies in the fields of tumor/cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, epigenetics, signal transduction or development. Willingness to participate in research involving mouse models is a must. We strongly encourage candidates with experience in NGS data analysis and bioinformatics background to apply, although is not required. The candidate, under the guidance of his/her mentor, will lead his/her own independent project, establish collaborations with national or international groups and be responsible for the data analysis and interpretation. We strive in creating a productive yet fun and fullfilling work environment where hardworking isn´t at odds with work-life balance.
Candidates must send their CV and three reference letters to aaytes@idibell.cat with the subject "Candidate for MSCA felloship"
