We are looking for:

Advance your postdoctoral training at our research institute in Barcelona

If you are a highly motivated individual who wants to work in a clinically oriented institution with state of the art preclinical facilities and key international partners, consider advancing your research training at the laboratory of Angel M. Carcaboso at Institut de Recerca Sant Joan de Deu. We are open to host your candidacy to a Marie Skłodowska Curie Individual Fellowship.

The postdoctoral position is available in the field of pharmaceutical sciences of pediatric solid tumors. The long term goal of the Carcaboso lab at IRSJD is to improve therapy for children with solid tumors through preclinical studies. The development of preclinical tumor models from patient biopsies is also a priority in the lab. During the last years the laboratory has established several cell models and patient-derived xenografts (PDX) from patients with pediatric solid tumors (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma, neuroblastoma, Ewing sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, retinoblastoma). These models open a wide field of possibilities for your original research. Angel’s group has tested the activity of new treatments and drug delivery systems in such models (Monterrubio et al, Pharm Res, 2015; Monterrubio et al, Biomaterials, 2016; Monterrubio et al, J Control Release, 2017). The lab collaborates with several international research institutions focused on finding cures for children with cancer.

To be a successful candidate you should be passionate for preclinical and translational research. I guarantee high motivation will be provided by our fellow oncologists and families of children with cancer. You will need a relevant doctoral degree and have laboratory expertise in pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, analytical techniques (HPLC), drug delivery and/or molecular biology. To be competent in this MSCA application, you should have published relevant research in international journals.

A cover letter of interest, CV and the contact information of three references should be sent to amontero@fsjd.org
