Job description:
The MCAA is building an online peer exchange platform for the research ecosystem to provide short mentorship exchanges around building a narrative-style CV, to foster recognition for a broader range of activities, achievements, and career paths for individuals contributing to research and innovation in all sectors and roles that make up the global R&I system.
This Community manager will be responsible for providing administrative, communications, and logistical support to the MCAA for this platform and other activities, including but not limited to:
- Building and maintaining an online community
- Assessment and management of membership applications
- Monitoring platform use to provide the best possible user experience
- Responses to queries of members and support
- Developing materials for communication and recruitment of community members
- Communication with stakeholders
- Preparation and presentation of progress and status updates to multiple international funding agencies, research institutions, and employers across the global R&I system
- Aligning and assisting communication campaigns around the platform
- General management of the platform
- Fostering continuing support of the platform by research funders and institutions (as above)
- Data and feedback collection to assess the effectiveness of the platform and potential for further development
- Interaction and collaboration with other relevant MCAA initiatives amd entities for community management
What we expect:
- A graduate qualification or higher; experience working in a research ecosystem is a plus
- Experience as an Community Manager or in a similar role
- Proficient in managing online platforms
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in English
- The readiness to join an international virtual team
What we offer:
- MCAA service contract as freelancer from September 2023 until end of August 2024, renewable depending on the performance
- Compensation based on candidate's relevant experience. A correction coefficient may apply depending on the geopolitical location
- The position is expected to be full-time, approximately 40 hours/week
