Postdoc – Image Guided Treatment (The Netherlands Cancer Institute)

Department of Surgical Oncology at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam is looking for an ethusiastic postdoctoral researcher with experience in ultrasound research and image processing, to join image-guided surgery and navigation group.

Your function within the department

Imaging technology (CT, MRI, ultrasound, optical imaging) is increasingly used to guide the treatment of cancer. In our department we are working on tissue recognition technology for surgery by combining optical imaging with conventional imaging such as ultrasound and CT. For the project “combining optics and acoustics for real time guidance during cancer surgery (KWF-STW), we are looking for a postdoc with experience in ultrasound research and image processing. This involves image segmentation, image fusion and fast data analysis. You will collaborate with an international group of researchers and clinicians.

Your profile

We are looking for an ambitious postdoc with a strong affinity for ultrasound imaging and image processing. The candidate should have an education in (applied) physics, mathematics, or the biomedical field.  Demonstrable affinity with deep learning and clinical health care is recommended. The candidate is fluent in English.

You will be employed for a period of at least 3 years. The gross salary per month is € 3.363,- to € 3.774,- (postdoc, conform FWG55) and depends on previous experience. You will have the opportunity to follow the NKI postdoc career development program (postdoc). The terms of employment will be in accordance with the CAO Hospitals.
