Profile

Candidates must be highly motivated and have a PhD in biological science. Strong knowledge of molecular and cellular biology with hands-on experience is required. Prior experience in epigenetic and/or cell signaling is highly valued.

Ability to work independently and good communication skills are required.

French speaking is NOT a requirement.

Application

Please send your application including a statement of past and future research interests, research experience and expertise, a complete curriculum vitae, date of availability, and at least two contacts for references (including phone number and email) to amelie.fauconnet@univ-grenoble-alpes.fr and nicolas.reynoird@univ-grenoble-alpes.fr before September 30th 2017.

About the team and working project

Team “Tumor Molecular Pathologies and Biomarkers” is composed of more than 15 members working on three different topics: “p53 isoform & metabolism”, “LKB1 & plasticity biology” and “lysine methylation signaling”. The latter is directed by Dr Nicolas REYNOIRD, a young CNRS scientist who will be the direct supervisor of this postdoctoral project, and is already supervising 2 PhD students on related projects. Our focus is to identify new lysine methylation signaling and its implication in cancer, through identification of novel substrates of lysine methyltransferases involved in tumorigenesis. The proposed project will aim to characterize the methylation event of a new substrate already identified and validated. Further details could be discussed during interview.

Expected results

This postdoctoral project is expected to give insights in new post-translational modification and signaling involved in cancer, with a focus in lung cancer. We expect that characterization of novel lysine methylation signaling will lead to unravel new tumorigenesis molecular pathways and to the identification of new therapeutical targets.
