​Magdalini Theodoridou

Magdalini Theodoridou is a civil engineer and conservation scientist with 20 years of experience in interdisciplinary research and research policy. She is a Senior Researcher at the University of Cyprus and a Visiting Lecturer at Newcastle University. She has been awarded two Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowships (PhD and Individual Fellowship) and a Newcastle University Academic Track (NUAcT) fellowship. Her experience spans academia, industry, and policy, and she has led and contributed to research projects with a combined value exceeding €22 million. An active member of the Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) since 2014, Magdalini was a founding member and Chair of its Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (GEDI) Working Group from 2018 to 2024. She has led the GEDI Family & Career Inclusivity Task Force and the Policy Working Group's Task Force on Science Policy–Research Careers, alongside contributing to a wide range of MCAA activities and initiatives. She has also served on the Board of the Artificial Intelligence Working Group. She represents the MCAA in the Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA) TIER Working Group, contributing to efforts to advance responsible research assessment and more inclusive and sustainable research careers. As a member of the MCAA Board for 2026–2028, she aims to support researchers' career development, foster networking and collaboration across borders, and strengthen researchers' voices in shaping research policies and practices.
