​Roxana Radu

Roxana Radu is an ordinary Board member of the MCAA and a Scientific Researcher (R2) at the National Institute of Materials Physics in Romania. Holding a PhD in Physics specialising in silicon radiation damage alongside a Law degree, she bridges technical research with expertise in labour legislation and research ethics. Roxana has held key leadership roles, serving as former Chair of the MCAA Romania Chapter and former member of the MCAA Ethics Committee, while serving as Secretary of the Hermes Trade Union Federation continuously since 2020. Named Ambassador for Values and Democracy (Eurodoc ValDem Programme 2026), she actively advocates for academic freedom, democratic values, meritocracy, and better working conditions for researchers. An experienced grant evaluator, she has served the International Science Council, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, EURIZON, and UEFISCDI. Roxana is also a certified trainer and expert in European funds, project management, and research leadership.
