​Sandra Rebok

Sandra Rebok is a historian and cultural scientist specialising in 18th/19th-century intellectual networks, imperial expansion, and exploration voyages, with a PhD in Cultural Sciences. She has worked for 16 years at the Spanish National Research Council and has held academic appointments and fellowships at leading institutions in Europe and America. Since 2022, she has been a Senior Fellow at the Center for US-Mexican Studies at the School of Global Policy and Strategy, University of California San Diego, a think tank at the intersection of science and policy, and a Research Associate in the University of California’s History Department. Previously, she worked for the German Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations (ifa) within the “Culture and Foreign Policy” programme, where subject-matter experts address current challenges and needs in international cultural relations and outline possible foreign cultural policy measures. At the MCAA, she served on the USA Chapter Board, led the Science Diplomacy Task Force within the Policy Working Group, and is a member of the Spain-Portugal Chapter and the Communication Working Group.
