Candidates’ manifestos

Moulay Ahmed Said Azizi Samir

Short Manifesto: As material scientist-entrepreneur profile and international network, I would like to connect African scientists and entrepreneurs with European science and research institutions to create deep links and share knowledge and opportunities.

Muhammad Aminu Idris

Short Manifesto: Africa has a significant number of members that needed to come together and form a very strong working group that can bring more meaningful developments through active participation of all MCAA activities. Many members have done many great research§hkn;l during their fellowships. These research activities are publishable and applicable results that needed to be communicated and applied through chapter activities. As a scientist with 24 years working experience in research, training and diagnostic services in one of the largest university teaching hospital in Nigeria, I have leadership skills and qualities to lead this great chapter to greater height.

Precious Idinma Ekwere

Short Manifesto: My name is Precious Ekwere & I am honoured to have served as Chair of the MCAA Africa Chapter for the last 2 years. Within this time, our active membership grew by over 22%, and our chapter transformed into a vibrant community actively engaged in global endeavors.

Our Achievements:

Increased Participation: Our expanded membership demonstrates growing interest and active involvement in our activities.

Enhanced visibility: We actively participated in international forums and collaborations. Our most recent being having 3 members attend and contribute at the MCAA annual conference in March 2024. Moreover, we have been active contributors at all AU-EU events.

Fostering Collaboration: We were very inclusive and shared opportunities to people across Africa. Also, we forged partnerships with EURAXESS Africa and leveraged these platforms to organize webinars, workshops, and events.

When re-elected, my priorities will focus on three key areas:

1. Self-Development of African Researchers: I will strengthen the support for the self-development of African researchers by providing more opportunities for them to attend workshops, webinars and trainings focused on career growth and development.

2. Networking Among MCAA Africa Chapter Members: Building a strong network of researchers is vital for collaboration and knowledge sharing. I will continue to facilitate networking opportunities through events, forums, and professional development programs, and constantly sharing opportunities to attend these events on all our platforms.

3. Global Participation of the Africa Chapter in MCAA Events: I will increase the global presence of the Africa Chapter in MCAA events, by supporting and encouraging more members to participate and contribute to these events. This will provide us greater exposure and opportunities to collaborate with researchers worldwide.

Together, we will continue to grow and represent Africa’s scientific community with pride.

Thank you for your trust and confidence.
