Change of Scope for MCAA-SA Chapter. Dear All, I would like to inform you all that the scope of MCAA-SA chapter has been changed. This change is mainly related to the geographical coverage of the chapter. For the year 2015, the MCAA-SA chapter covered the whole South Asian region, which comprises Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan, and Maldives. From 2016 on wards, the scope of the chapter’s coverage has been reduced to Pakistan and Sri Lanka due to multiple reasons. First and the foremost reason is that the region is simply too big to be managed under one chapter. Secondly, in 2015, the creation of MCAA-SA chapter was proposed based on the fact that there is no other chapter representing MCAA members from the whole region. However, this is no more the case now. There is an Indian Chapter created by the MCAA for our Indian members, which practically falls within the South Asian region covered by MCAA-SA Chapter. Thus, there is an overlap between the two chapters. Since the chapters and working groups are supposed to compliment each other’s efforts under MCAA umbrella, this overlap needed to be removed for better coordination and utilization of resources. Therefore, from 2016 on wards, the chapter will cover only Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The chapter will also be renamed very soon. Our dear members from other regional countries, who are currently affiliated with MCAA-SA chapter, are welcomed to remain associated with the chapter in future.
