Ciao, I would like to know what is the budget of this working group for the new session and what are the activities we have planned. We have not received any message or information for months. Is this chapter still active? Wondering!!!

Hi. The budget assigned is  3000 E. Unfortunately I have been really busy with the end of the Ph.D. and this is the reason why the group has been not that active. Although I am not completely free I started being more active again and I am contacting the people I collaborated with to organize the events in Greece and in the Czech Republic in April 2015. 

In the coming weeks I will provide more details and I will ask all the members whether they are interested in collaborating more actively for organizing new events.

Thank you very much for your reply. I suppose that we need to know many things like plan for new session and election of new Chapter Chair. We need to put a Call for this. Last year, we have been mainly notified after the end of activity. As a group member, we want to be more involved in activity planning, budgeting and all.

Please do so ASAP you get time and Call for election of new Chair. We are more than 6000 members on MCAA and the budget of this working group is very high, atleast 2-3 times of budget of Chapters.

Its very important to involve more and more members and get the working group moving or dedicate your duties to other person during your time of business. Its extremely sad that as member of group, we have not been involved in renewing proposal of the working group or notified about that or Call for election of new Chair.

We must discuss all these things more seriously in Venice general meeting in the month of March with all attendees. MCAA is for everyone and we should include as much possible members of our group as possible.

thanks four your wondering and for your post.

Before starting my last two big activities, in Jan-Feb 2015 I contacted all the members and with some of them we organized two big events. At the beginning of the first year, the strategy was more focused on supporting other activities, such as conferences, workshops, etc. I really appreciate that you want to be more active this year because I remember that you were not part of those groups of activities. I do NOT even remember any particular request or input from your side, except for asking money for the purposes of the chapter you are responsible of.

The reason why the budget of this WG is higher is that it is NOT a chapter. It is meant to go where MCAA is not present and support other parallel activities aimed at networking. Last year, with a very limited time, we were able to reach two big countries where MCAA was not present, to involve local institutions, and to collaborate with local members to set the new chapters. The mission of the WG for the first year has been considered fully accomplished. 

It is true that not many people have been involved in the new proposal. I must also add that you were perfectly aware that the proposal had to be sent. Nevertheless, as well as for activities, you did not take any action and I do not see the reason why I should involve you in the decisions, being completely absent and unaware of the activities of this WG. I have updated the documents in the documents of the WG. they are available there. Since the goal of this WG is very similar to the one of the chapters, with the board, it was agreed (and several times repeated during last GA in Porto) that the role of this WG is simply to do extra work and to reach the places where MCAA is not present, motivating local people to set new chapters.

Finally, since the schedule was not tight because there is one full year to organize the events and spend the budget, I considered not urgent to organize the events in the first 6 months.

I take the opportunity to thank you again for raising these questions and I hope all your doubts/wondering/thoughts have been clarified with this message.

Thank  you for your message. I apologise if I lost some of your emails, however, I did contacted you to organize big event in venice for the MSCA info day by MCAA website message (which is organized int he month of May), which you have replied after many months saying that you have not checked your email. Due to that event, Venice is considered as one of the option of GA event and finaly won by vote. If I am not so active before, I apologise for that.

MCAA is not only about organizing 1-2 big event but keep moving even with small events. You have done wonderful job as I now have read in the report and to the honest yes, I was unaware of most of the the events. I dont remeber if you publish any call that E&N working group is provided travel support to fellows to attend meetings or conferences. 

P.S.: I asked money from E&N group for the NI Chapter to organize EVENTS (event in Venice) and not for my own travel. I wanted to grow my Chapter as much as I can in Euros 1000 budget which is three times lower than budget of any working group (E&N budget was Euros 5000 which was not spent all). If the Chapter grows, MCAA grows, there was no personal benefit for me. Within this limited budget, we organized more than 10 activities which is much higher than any Chapter or working group (to my poor knowledge). 

Thanks for everything you are doing for MCAA.

My concern is only that I want to get involved more now (I am sorry, If I am not in the past) and there is nothing wrong in it if I asked you information to catch up.
