Collaboration with NCP (KPK) in Warsaw

2 min read Apr 03, 2017

Dear Members,
I thought I will give you an update on the meetings with our National Contact Point (Krajowy Punkt Kontaktowy) in Warsaw that I have been kindly invited to by Anna Wiśniewska.

1.    Tomorrow I’m presenting MCAA to a group of NCPs from abroad who come to the Warsaw KPK for a Twinning workshop within the Net4Mobility network (their purpose is to share the best practice, and they will also practice evaluating IFs on that day).

2.    Next week I meet at the KPK again to learn more about the “Polish ERA Mobility and Career Days” project (acronym PL-ERADays) - this is a 3-day, 5-city event in October 2017 for which KPK got EU funding. They have created an advisory committee for the project, to which they have invited me as MCAA representative, but also people from EuroDoc, Polish Confederation Lewiatan, Akademia Młodych Uczonych of the Polish Academy of Sciences, representatives of Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Foundation for Polish Science etc. The representatives of the advisory committee will meet with KPK on April 13th.

BTW, who wants to represent us during the PL-ERADays in Gliwice, Poznań and Łódź (Warsaw and Kraków are assigned)? It would require presence on the first day of the event as an ambassador of science, mobility, MSCA, MCAA...

I’ll keep you posted about the outcome of these meetings later on.

Best wishes,

Maja (Maria)

Dear Maria, that looks great!

I can be a representative member either in Poznan or Łódź (I think they are the closest one to Wroclaw).

Best wishes,

Hi, yet another collaborative effort with the KPK. Adam Głuszuk is asking for scientists who would like to be part of a media campaign celebrating 20 years of MSCA.

The campaign is run by the company "Science PR" and it would feature institutions and scientists in Poland that benefited from MSCA. There would be something about what countries are the most popular destinations for Polish scientists, what nationalities choose most frequently to come to Poland etc. + some interviews with selected fellows who are still here. Preferably they would like to contact those with Individual grants or in ITNs. Please let me know or leave a comment if you are interested - I would assemble a list of candidates and the PR company will pick their favourites.

best wishes,

Maria

Hello Guys,

Sorry for my long absence here, but I am in Inida, due to a family emergency and ahave limited access to my mailbox.

From what I gathered, you guys have been working hard, and I will contribute to the good work once I am back.

About thr collaboration with KPK

I am interested in both the tasks.

If I remember correctly, even Gdansk was one of the destinations, in case it is, I will gladly take up that position

About the media campaign, I can volunteer for that as well.

Regards,

Rohan

Hi, thank you for volunteering for the media campaign - I've passed the list to KPK with the names of all who commented here or sent me a message/email. I will keep you updated (or maybe they will contact you directly).

Rohan, I think Gdańsk is unfortunately not on the list for PL-ERADays, it was Gliwice :( But there will be sponsoring for members commuting to another city that has no local (willing) MCAA representatives living there that could take part in the event (currently for grabs: Gliwice and either Łódź or Poznań). The "sponsoring" will come either from our Chapter budget, or from general MCAA budget (some funding was dedicated for ERA Career Days collaborations for EURAXESS by Brian Cahill last year), or from the PL-ERADays budget itself. More details will follow next week after the PL-ERADays meeting on 13th.

best wishes,

Maja

Hi all,

today's meeting with KPK made things a bit more clear about the 3-day event in October, Polish ERA Mobility and Career Days. The whole project is aimed at young researchers who are about to start or are already doing their PhD, and hopes to attract an audience of 1250 participants. Possibly some young PhDs might find it of interest too - in Poland, the young researcher category = <35 years old..

They will pick an "ambassador" for each of the cities (and a media campaign, again run by "Science PR" like for the MSCA). The "ambassador" will probably be a young successful researcher, but not necessarily from MCAA - we will see if they pick us for this role, they need some variety in terms of field/gender/sector etc. The ambassador will need to be present during the event.

Unfortunately for our foreign members, the events will be in Polish, but I suggested that one of the round tables on the first day should include researchers from abroad who can talk about cultural differences, how to deal with difficulty of moving countries/continents and so on, which would be in English. Hopefully they accommodate some of these suggestions.

In any case, we should have a MCAA stand at each of the big events, so volunteers will be very welcome. The events focus on the possibility for young researchers to talk to others with a bit more experience/experts, which we can definitely provide as an alumni organisation :)

There will also be 1-day events in additional cities, but not much has been said about that yet.

I will keep you updated if anything more is known

Happy holiday break!

That souns very interesting Maria!

I have already volunteer as you know, as always, depending on the dates. I thinkk It is a really good idea that one table includes researches from abroad, at the end this is about mobility, and it should be international.

Thank you.

Hi,

KPK is still looking for 2-3 people (preferably at least 1 female) who are foreigners in Warsaw to have an interview at TVN Warszawa for the MSCA promo campaign.

Let us know ASAP if you find a candidate or can volunteer yourself! :)

best wishes,

Maja

Hi,

I am available, but it depends on when the interview is planned, cause I will be back at my institute (in Warsaw) in May,

Thank you Valentina, they will get back to you, apparently the campaign will still continue for some time.

I think they are looking for variety and local representatives (hopefully something happens in other cities too). I've also given them contact details to all other volunteers, but apparrently we could still use more "media-ready" declarations from our members ;)

Best wishes,

Maria
