Dear MCAA Russian Chapter...
Dear MCAA Russian Chapter members,
I hope all of you are doing well in your research careers and otherwise as well.
the 2016 was not active for our Chapter and MCAA in general due to changes in the financing contract with the EU (the Russian Chapter has no budget for 2016), but we are hoping things are changing in 2017, at least I've applied for the budget and we have been already awarded 2000 euros.
I've been the founding Chair and has served 2 years. I am not putting my candidature for a Chair position for the next year, but very happy to serve in a member capacity.
I hereby would like to put forward a candidate for a Russian Chapter Chair: Mr. Boris Voronin, from V.E. Zuev Institute of Atmospheric Optics, Russian Academy of Sciences, Tomsk. vba_iao@mail.ru
Boris has been active as a member, was a great help in posting on MCAA website, and has been working on fundraising for the future MCAA Russia activities.
The Election process is as following:
1. please put forward any other candidates for this position.
2.1. if there will be no alternative candidates Boris will be elected as a new Chair without voting.
2.2. if there will be other nominations, I will create a formal ballot and send it via email, we will held the voting and the candidate with maximum support will be elected.
I suggest a time frame of two weeks for alternative nominations.
A new Chair should be formally approved during MCAA GA Salamanca and his term will start after the GA (March 25th).
warm regards,
Nikolai
MCAA Russian Chapter Chair
