ESOF2016 career opportunities - "Pi with the Prof"

On

Dear members,

I would like to draw your attention to a very interesting career opportunity which will be provided at the ESOF main conference (Manchester, 24-27 July). Please, note that this is not the same event as the MSCA Satellite Event which will be held on 28-29 July.

‘P with the Prof’ is a unique event at ESOF, where early-stage career delegates are offered the opportunity to meet with professors and professionals from the scientific world. Manchester will continue this tradition by serving a traditional British pie – or, to give it a mathematical flavour, ‘Pi with the Prof’.

The event provides a great opportunity for early-stage career researchers to pose questions and share ideas on the direction of their research, careers and future paths and to have general science discussions – all in an informal atmosphere with a leading professor in their field of interest. The lunch will take place in the designated ‘Pi with the Prof’ area at the exhibition hall Monday through to Wednesday at two time slots of 12:00-13:00 and 13:00-14:00. More time slots may be added at a later date depending on demand.

Each ‘Prof’ is assigned a table, where there will be room for around 6-8 early-stage career researchers. The session will last for approximately 45 minutes and will allow participants to ask questions about their field of study or interests. It is intended to be an informal event and is a great opportunity to gain an insight to the experience and knowledge of some of the most accomplished people in their respective fields – and not to forget the delicious food.
