The Fast Track Programme of the Robert Bosch Stiftung

The Fast Track Programme of the Robert Bosch Stiftung helps young female postdocs strategically plan their scientific career in good time. Launched in the autumn of 2007, “Fast Track” is the foundation’s two-year programme tailored to the individual needs of its participants.
Who can apply?
Applications can be submitted by young female postdoctoral researchers. The requirements for applicants include the following:
- far above-average academic achievements
- an outstanding PhD
- international publications in relevant journals
- proven independent research
- invitations to give papers at academic conferences
- experience in acquiring and running projects funded by third parties
- PhD completed between two and six years ago (discounting maternity leave and the like)
- extended periods of research at leading institutions abroad
- desire to pursue an academic career
- convincing explanation of motivation for participation in the interdisciplinary Fast Track programme
- excellent command of English and German
What form does funding take?
At the heart of the programme is a series of four seminars, each of which builds upon the last, during the course of which scholarship holders acquire career-relevant social and leadership skills. They enhance their assertiveness and leadership qualities, polish their image and fine-tune their negotiation skills.
A further objective is to design individual career blueprints in dialogue with leading scientists, politicians and business and media representatives. The seminars each last for three to four days.
In addition, participants receive an allowance of 2,400 euros over two years (100 euros per month).
When is the closing date for applications?
The next closing date for applications is 28 February 2016.

They have an FAQ and say that even foreigners with foreign PhD are accepted. Seems that I have good chances with German diploma, I wonder if they take that I write applications for German institutions in Italy (in the meantime I found plenty of them in my field, I will get the result on a position mid February).
I just looked at the FAQ and they say that the meetings take place in German and the proposal must be written in German.
Good luck with your application!
Well, Brian, thank you so much for all your posts. Hope we will meet also personally in Venice?
BTW I do not apply to PRIME anymore. But I wrote to Casa di Goethe, which was more informal, and now thinking of a German institute in Florence which accepts Initiativbewerbung. I am too tired to write a big project, but such small ones are OK.
kind regards
Maria
I am looking forward to going to Venice and meeting all of the people from MCAA again.
I have signed up for a lot of funding newsletters and post whatever I think might suit our membership. We definitely have very many excellent female candidates with international experience for this Bosch Foundation Program.
Warm regards,
Brian
Hi Brian,
I got yesterday my result per post. I was not invited to the interviu. They had 146 applications and from this 40 invites. They explicitely tell no reasons for this.
kind regards
Maria
I took this English language text above from the Research in Germany website http://www.research-in-germany.org/en/infoservice/newsletter/newsletter-2016/january-2016/robert-bosch-scholarships--fast-track-.htm. It only mentions English as a language requirement. The actual Robert Bosch Stiftung site only has detailed information in German and says clearly that both German and English are required - http://www.bosch-stiftung.de/content/language1/html/11751.asp.
Even if German is required, we have very many excellent candidates of German nationality and also non-German members who speak German. Nevertheless, I have contacted the Bosch Stiftung to settle the question.
