Dear All,

A delegation headed by IITD Director, Professor Ramgopal Rao is visiting a number of university hubs in US in the second half of June  for an informational session and discuss IITD's future growth plans with the intention of boosting our faculty recruitment with strong candidates.  Could you please circulate this email to the alumni/potential faculty candidates who are in universities in the US or anyone else you think could spread the word about the visit of IIT team for faculty recruitment.

IIT Delhi is a premier location for engineering faculty interested in working in India. The institute has witnessed significant growth in the  past 10 years with current UG registration nearing 4000 and 2500 PhD students. IIT Delhi has set out on an ambitious path of increasing the faculty size by 50% in near future and is looking for the brightest minds to launch and pursue their faculty career in IIT Delhi.

A delegation headed by the present Director, Professor Ramgopal Rao is visiting a number of university hubs in US in the second half of June  for an informational session and discuss IITD's future growth plans.  An itinerary of the visit is given below. We welcome faculty applicants across all nationalities.

While IITD is one of the topmost undergraduate institutions globally, it has also witnessed a steady rise towards a research institution of international standing. Last year, QS World University Rankings rated IITD as #44 globally in the discipline of Engineering and Technology. Almost all traditional departments (Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical) were rated under top 100, with EE breaking into top 50. IITD boasts of a very supportive environment for research, a push towards interdisciplinary, socially-relevant research, recent investments in world class laboratories and research equipment, close ties with both industry and Indian government, and endless possibilities of high impact enabled by the Indian education system in the context of a dynamic and growing economy.

Did you know that Govt. of India is putting in a huge amount of money to up the ante in terms of our international presence? Did you know that being in a close vicinity of a top humanities school (JNU), and country's topmost medical school(AIIMS) brings unique research opportunities? Did you know that being in proximity to Govt. of India allows faculty members to potentially have a huge impact to the country's policies through their advice and socially-relevant research?

Please join us in the venue that is located nearest to your present location to talk to our team and learn more.  There will also be a limited number of on-site interviews for exceptional candidates. If you have  already applied for a position, please contact the corresponding Department head to know the status and you are encouraged to discuss your plans and any other
relevant issues. Looking forward to meeting you.
