Manifestos of candidates
Bogdan-Marian Tofanica
I am writing to express my strong interest in running for the Chair position of the Romanian Chapter because I believe that my skills, experience, and dedication make me well-suited for this leadership role, and I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the association's growth and success.
As a MSC Fellow, I was lucky enough to spend two years in Trento, Italy, between 2012-2014, at the Fondazione Bruno Kessler, right in the mainstream of European and international research.
Studying natural sciences (wood science and technology), I had the chance to explore the innovative frontiers of knowledge with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches and on the applications area (biomass, climate change, biobased economy) in collaboration with other researchers across Europe and the world. This opened my eyes to the many differences in opinion and cultural diversity, but also to our many shared experiences. This is what is so valuable about M Action, it help researchers to gain experience abroad and to complete their training with competences on disciplines useful for their careers, combining academic research study with innovative training, international and intersectorial mobility, that enhances their employability and career development. It made it simple for me to live abroad, improve my English, and get to know people who lived around the globe. To me, this demonstrates the Europe's attractiveness as a leading destination for Research and Innovation.
Being part of the Programme – like so many other Europeans – inspired in me a passion for the European Union and its roles for the European citizens. It was what encouraged me to become of science communicator of Research and Innovation results to society.
If elected as Chair, I will be dedicated to advancing the association's goals, representing the interests of our members, and working collaboratively with the Romanian team and board members to ensure the continued growth and success of the MSCAA.

Being a Vice-chair of the Romania chapter for almost two years (since 2022) has provided me with a valuable managerial perspective on chapter management. Additionally, I have cherished the opportunities to engage with incredible individuals and expand my network. My main objectives as chapter Chair are: 1. Increase the number of members of the Romanian chapter. 2.Enhance the internal communication to enable effective exchange of information among all members of the Romania chapter in a structured and meaningful manner. 3.Encourage active participation of members by motivating them to attend organized events. 4. Improve members' understanding of the advantages offered by the MCAA organization, such as access to courses, receiving career guidance and support, and fostering networking opportunities. I am grateful for your deliberation regarding my application and eagerly anticipate working together in a fun and productive manner.
