MCAA Annual Conference and General Assembly 2024 

We are very happy to inform you that the next Annual Conference and General Assembly will take place in Milan on the 15th and 16th of March, with satellite events on the 14th of March. The year 2024 will mark a big anniversary for our association, which will be the centre of our Annual Conference, starting from its very theme: "10 Years of MCAA: Past, Present & Future". The sessions’ proposal procedure is open. The proposal form can only be submitted by a Board member, or a Chair of a Chapter or Working Group. However, sessions can be proposed (organised, moderated etc) by any MCAA member. If you have an idea for a session, please contact the relevant Working Group or your local Chapter. 

 

Microgrants 2023

We have opened the Microgrants call to support the career development of the members. Please check the rules of the grant and apply using this form.

 

MCAA Whistleblowing Channel

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the MCAA Whistleblowing Channel, a confidential platform dedicated to promoting integrity and transparency within our community. The channel offers members a safe and secure space for all members to report concerns or potential misconduct, ensuring that our values of honesty and accountability remain steadfast.  through the MCAA Whistleblowing Channel, members can report issues related to two types of macro-contexts: (a) issues that took place or are directly related to the MCAA, and (b) issues that took place within or are directly related to third parties (e.g. universities, research centres, funding bodies, private companies, etc.).

 

MCAA Academy Mentoring Platform

The MCAA is recruiting members to grow its newly launched mentoring platform aiming to foster career development. Connect with experienced mentors, build networks, and gain guidance from alumni experts across diverse fields. Join as mentors or mentees to support and grow together. MCAA Learning licences

Through the Coursera platform, members have access to a wide range of courses and specialisations taught by top professors from leading universities around the world. MCAA LATM Conference 2023

The third edition of the MCAA Latin American (Latam) Conference will take place on October 27th and 28th, 2023 and will be hosted at Universidad Tecnológica de Bolívar in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. Please check the conference website for more information.

 

European Citizen Science (ECS) Survey 

Interested in including more public engagement in your research? Would you like to learn more about it? The European Citizen Science (ECS) project, of which the MCAA is a partner, is launching an Academy on Citizen Science and would like to hear about your training needs. Our intention is to respond to training needs via summer schools, training modules, workshops; and in addition form a network of researchers engaged in participatory research. The survey should take you about 10-15 mins. Please fill out this survey by September 11, 2023. 

 

Open Science Survey

The OPUS project, of which the MCAA is also a partner, is working to reform the assessment of researchers towards a more fair and inclusive research assessment system which also incentivises and rewards Open Science. This survey is targeted at researchers and is looking for diverse examples of possible rewards for researchers who practise Open Science. The survey takes about 5-8 minutes to complete and the deadline to fill in the survey is 31 August 2023. 

 

Save the Date for the Conference “Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions”

The Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union organises a High-Level Conference on the funding programme Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) of Horizon Europe. The event will take place in the city of Toledo, next 14th and 15th of November to reflect on “MSCA Diverse Research Careers to tackle Global Challenges”.
