Greetings!!!
I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Chair of the Career Development Working Group (CDWG) for the upcoming term. Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of leading the CDWG, where we have achieved remarkable success and growth.
Achievements as Chair of the CDWG:
- Record Membership Engagement: Under my leadership, we have achieved the highest active membership and followers within the MCAA Working Groups.
- Successful Initiatives: We have organized numerous webinars, seminars, and workshops on critical topics such as career development, academia-industry collaboration, entrepreneurship, grant writing, mental health, and work-life balance.
- Transforming the Indian Chapter: As Chair of the Indian Chapter from 2017 to 2021, I transformed it into the largest and most active chapter within the MCAA, setting a precedent for excellence and engagement.

- Webinars and Workshops: We will continue to offer high-quality events focusing on essential career development topics.
- Collaboration Opportunities: Strengthening academic-industry collaborations to open new avenues for career advancement.
- Support Systems: Enhancing our efforts on mental health and work-life balance to ensure holistic development.

- Comprehensive Career Support: Launching new programs to address the diverse career development needs of MCAA members.
- Empowerment Through Knowledge: Providing resources and training to empower members to excel in their professional journeys.
- Strategic Initiatives: Driving initiatives that foster collaboration, innovation, and growth within our community.
My Background:
As an Associate Professor at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Sciences (IACS) in Kolkata, I have made significant contributions to Physics and Material Sciences. My academic and professional achievements include:
- Publications and Patents: 102 publications, 4 patents, 11 books, and over 75 invited talks.
- Prestigious Awards: Recipient of the Fulbright Nehru Professional Excellence Fellowship, the MRSI Medal, and the MCAA Societal Impact Award.
- Leadership Roles: Active involvement in The Global Young Academy (GYA), the National Academy of Sciences (NASI) in India, and the Indian National Young Academy of Sciences (INYAS).
- Editorial Experience: Serving as an editor for Materials Letters (Elsevier) and Nanotechnology (IOP) Journals.
I understand the challenges and opportunities faced by professionals in academia and industry. My commitment to driving strategic initiatives, fostering collaboration, and empowering MCAA members to reach their full potential is unwavering.
