New Elections for the Greece Chapter
Dear Greece chapter members,
the first round of elections for the Greece chapter resulted in an ex aequo between Dimitrios Christaras and Theodoros Pavloudis.
We will therefore need to run another round of elections for the two candidates.
What happens now
- From today, 1st Aug, until Saturday 5th August 2023, the two candidates can use the "post" feature of the portal for campaigning.
- From Sunday 6th to Saturday 12th of August, members will be invited to vote through a new poll on this page. During this time no campaigning will be allowed
- After the closure of the new poll the candidate who has received the most votes will be announced after validation of the MCAA ExCom
Manifestos of candidates
Theodoros Pavloudis
My name is Theodoros Pavloudis and I am a post-doctoral researcher, currently working at the School of Physics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). I completed my PhD at the School of Physics of AUTh and have since worked at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (visiting researcher), Swansea University (research officer and MSCA Sêr Cymru II COFUND post-doctoral fellow), and AUTh (2x IKY post-doctoral fellow).
Working in different countries and labs, I came to know the difficulties of our profession and realized how important information sharing, holding discussions, socializing and networking, and connecting with peers are for our development and improvement as teachers, researchers and individuals.
I am running for the Chair position of the Greece MCAA Chapter hoping to keep a lively Chapter in our country and to help towards facilitating meaningful interactions between the members of our Chapter, as well as with Chapters and Working Groups from different countries.
Dimitrios Christaras
I am Dimitris (in Greece short of Dimitrios) and I am a biomedical engineer. I have benefited twice from a MSC action as a PhD candidate and, recently as an Individual fellow. I have moved from the academia to the industry and have started my own start up, which is now part of a MSCA doctoral training network (ACTIVA). My focus as a chair will be to work on the strengthening of the chapter community character with in-person meetings and socialising, organise workshop and seminars that can help the chapter and assist with the problems any new or old MSCA fellows might face in Greece.
