On

Dear members of the Marie Curie Alumni Association of Indian Chapter,

I am writing to humbly request your support and vote for my candidacy as the Indian Chapter Chair. My name is Ashwani Kumar Tiwari, and I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Environmental Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. I have been a proud member of the Marie Curie Alumni Association since 2019 and have actively contributed to the academic and research community in various capacities. My academic background and research expertise lie in hydro-geochemistry, groundwater-seawater interaction, mining, and aquifer vulnerability. I have a strong foundation in Environmental Science, having completed my M.Sc., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees. Notably, my Ph.D. journey was enriched by my time at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, India, from which I obtained my doctorate in 2016. Additionally, I was honoured to be a recipient of Erasmus Mundus and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Scholarships. Furthermore, I had the privilege of being a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Environment, Land, and Infrastructure Engineering, Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy, for around four years. My time at Politecnico di Torino allowed me to collaborate with international researchers, broaden my research perspective, and contribute to the global scientific community.

If elected as the Indian Chapter Chair, I am committed to fulfilling the responsibilities associated with this esteemed position. Here are some of the key contributions I wish to make:

  • PhD and Postdoc Funding Opportunities: One of my primary objectives is to organize online session programs to inform and assist Indian students and researchers in finding suitable funding opportunities for their doctoral and postdoctoral studies.
  • Promoting Interactions: I aim to foster a vibrant academic community by inviting professionals, professors, researchers, and students for interactive sessions lasting 15 or 30 days. These interactions will facilitate knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration, ultimately enhancing the research landscape in India.
  • Organizing Important Lectures: To enrich the learning experiences of researchers, I plan to arrange lectures by esteemed speakers on relevant and cutting-edge topics. These lectures will offer valuable insights and promote intellectual growth.
  • Representation at International Platforms: As the Indian Chapter Chair, I will wholeheartedly represent the Indian chapter at international platforms, thereby ensuring that the voice and contributions of Indian researchers are heard and acknowledged globally.
  • Online Discussion and Training: I am keen on organizing online discussion and training programs that cover diverse research areas. These programs will facilitate interdisciplinary learning and encourage a holistic approach to scientific exploration.

I firmly believe that my passion for academic excellence and my vision for the Indian chapter's growth aligns perfectly with the objectives of the Marie Curie Alumni Association.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Ashwani Kumar Tiwari

(Your Indian Chapter Chair Candidate)
