Date 2nd October 2017 Location: UCD location TBC Capacity: max 100, Eventbrite page will be established Start: 09: 30 Registration End: 2 pm The Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) is promoting an active community of researchers brought together by past or present mobility experience under the European Commission's Marie Curie programme. To promote these activities in Ireland, the MCAA Ireland chapter was founded in 2017 to enhance interactions between members and raise the profile of this exceptional group of researchers. Since it was founded the Ireland Chapter has attracted ca 100 members ranging from high profile researchers to newly funded fellows. These members are from across the island of Ireland both north and south of the border which is fitting as science knows no borders... The Ireland Chapter will have its official launch in UCD on October 2nd where there will be an excellent line-up of speakers. Further to this the Ireland Chapter plans to organise and run specific events in: Bridging science and business, gender equality and science communication.

I would love to be able to present at this event?  But I understand completely if this is not possible.  Thank you so much.  All my best Tanya

What is the agenda or the plans for that day? Is it open to active participation from the MCAA fellows? Kind regards, Unai

HI Unai,

For this meeting we are inviting some high profile MCAA fellows to present to showcase how the MSCA award can boost researchers careers.

Kind regards

Dear Declan,

Could you please define what "high profile" means in this context?

Kind regards,

Hi Declan,

If you are still looking for speakers to showcase how an MSCA award can boost a researcher's career I might be a good candidate. Following my International Outgoing Fellowship at MIT I have received a Royal Society - Science Foundation Ireland University Research Fellowship to continue work at UCD. Certainly, having the MSCA was key in making this next step.

Regards,

Niels
