We have feedback from many of our members working in the Arts and Humanities about their extremely limited capacity to make an academic career despite excellent work and achievements. MCAA is actively working to build a team that will present our analysis of career development in the humanities to a wider audience.
In the meantime I would encourage all of our members in this area to contribute to the survey run by vitae to investigate Arts and Humanities doctoral and early career researchers' engagement with professional development: https://vitae.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/ahsurvey

Dear Brian,
That's a very interesting subject, which I will forward to my fellow MCAA colleagues.
Thanks for raising it!
Best wishes,
Francisco

Dear Brian,
thank you for this effort and for reading all my emails regarding this issue.
This is a very crucial problem due to the fact that we can not conduct our researches with non-academic sector.
If I can help with the analyses of career development in humanities - please do contact me.
Kind regards,
