We need your input for our new survey on: CONNECTING TALENTED PEOPLE WITH HAPPY JOBS
Dear everyone,
I wish you all a happy new year 2019 and hope you all found some time to relax!
In the past months we were working together with the Flemish Government and the Belgian start-up kazi to create a survey on connecting talented people (so you!) with happy jobs!
We would appreciate it a lot if you could take some minutes to fill it in: https://mcaa.kazi.be/talent
Feel free to contact us at kazi@mariecuriealumni.eu in case of questions.
Thank you for your support and hopefully see all of you soon at the GA in Vienna.
Cheers,
Esther

Thanks for doing the survey Anupam! There is as second survey for industry which was sent out in parallel with this one. Both surveys will be evaluated and used to analyze the expectation gap between PhDs and potential employers. The overall goal of the Flemish Government is to bridge this gap in the future to better connect people with jobs. Let me know if you have further questions :)
Sorry, I understood differently. Well would be interesting to see what industry is expecting from the new employees. I think, one of the important outcome from these surveys could be the restructuing of current professional preparation practices and policy framework setting them both in fine alignment with the labour market needs (provided actions are taken). As far as Flanders is concerned, there is a huge imbalance in skills demand and supply. Efforts for preparation of these highly skilled professionals are very great but their retention outlook in Belgium is bleak. Though foreign students in Belgium can be given access to the labour market and this issue has been debated for long, this solution is not yet implemented. I also believe as an experiment there can be a provision of affirmative actions for atleast those who complete higher studies in Belgium with ace qualities otherwise skills drain will countinue from Belgium to neighbouring countries. Hope all these statistics advance towards a better future soon.
Done! I'm curious about the expectation gap you mentioned, ie industry vs our expectations as PhDs :) Will the final data be posted somewhere?
Yes indeed, the final data will be published! I am also curious about the outcome :)

Done. The Survey designed resulted in a good assessment of my personal and professional traits.
Didn't understand how it is connecting people with jobs?
