Picture a Scientist: Virtual Film Screening and Panel discussion organised by the MCAA Brazil Chapter

The Brazil Chapter of the Marie Curie Alumni Association invites all to a virtual screening of the documentary “Picture a Scientist”.

‘‘Picture a Scientist aims to amplify the voices of women & people of color in science, to effect change in the culture of science’’.

We are excited to offer access to this important film to our commu- nity as a part of our science policy initiatives for a kinder and better research culture. We hope this film screening acts as a catalyst for reflection, discussion, and change.

A link to the film will be sent the day before the screening via email. There will be a 72-hour window to watch the film.

In addition to the virtual screening of the movie, Brazil Chapter is will be hosting a virtual Panel Discussion in the day following the screening.

We are bringing scientists at different career stages to talk about their experiencies and to reflect upon the film messsage.

-Lilian Genaro Motti Ader, Lecturer in Interaction Design, Dept. of Computer Science and Information Systems, University of Limerick, Ireland

The session will be moderated by Magda Theodoridou, Academic Track (NUAcT) Fellow, Newcastle University, UK, Chair of the Genders, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (GEDI) MCAA Working Group
