Austrian Chapter Meeting - April 29, Linz

Dear Austrian Chapter Members, I'm writing to remind you all of our upcoming chapter meeting in Linz on Friday, April 29. Please try and attend this meeting if at all possible, as it will give you a chance to network with fellow MCAA members in Austria. In addition, there is a lot going on with the MCAA in general, and a lot to discuss at this meeting.

Here's a very brief agenda:

• Review of Austrian Chapter 2015-16 activities
• Report from the MCAA General Assembly in Venice
• Austrian Chapter planning for 2016-2018
• Austrian Chapter "Member of the Year Award" presentation
• Public Speaking workshop
• Dinner at Ars Electronica Center

From my experience at the MCAA General Assembly in Venice, I can tell you that the MCAA in general is growing, both in terms of membership, as well as financing from the European Commission. This means that our upcoming meeting will be important for planning Austrian Chapter organization and activities for the next few years.

In addition, we need to begin the process of electing a new Austrian Chapter chair. I was elected to the MCAA Board in Venice, and would like to hand off the Chapter chair duties to another able candidate.

Finally, we should also consider the possibility of hosting the MCAA GA in 2017 or 2018 in Austria. The deadline for GA hosting proposals is May 30. Please see the attached document for more details.
