Double affiliation for global fellows
Dear All,
I will soon be submitting a study I performed at my outgoing host institution (US). I have included both my institutions (US and European) as affiliations in the manuscript. My US supervisor however wants me to take out the European affiliation, which I don't think is fair (they are paying me after all). Hence I'd like to keep this double affiliation. Is there a statement somewhere favoring such double affiliations for global fellows? I haven't found anything in the grant agreement.
Thank you,
Best,
Jessica

Sorry for posting 3 times, I wasn't aware of submitting - please read only the 3rd one, I added further comments there. Best Frauke
Hi Jessica, do you mean co-authorship for colleagues at your European institution, or simply your own affiliation? In the latter case, surely it is entirely up to you, and I don't see why anyone would object to putting both, it is in the nature of an MSCA global fellowship after all. However, if your US supervisor has some sort of problem with it, you could always deal with it in the acknowledgements, which in any case is where the sentence regarding funding (provided by Frauke Kersten) is meant to appear. Best wishes, Daniel
Dear Jessica,
The primary affiliation is where you did most of the work.
I see it similarly to Daniel. You feel that you are affiliated to both institutions. I don't see what your supervisor loses through this. Most practically you want people to be able to know where you are during the return phase of the fellowship.
Regards,
Brian
