Interesting events on ERC Grants by the National Hellenic Research Foundation
Πρόσκληση Το Εθνικό Κέντρο Τεκμηρίωσης (ΕΚΤ) σας προσκαλεί στην Ημερίδα για τα 10 χρόνια του Ευρωπαϊκού Συμβουλίου Έρευνας (ERC) Τετάρτη 15 Μαρτίου 2017, 09.00-14.30 Αθήνα, Εθνικό Ίδρυμα Ερευνών (Αμφιθέατρο Λ. Ζέρβας, Bασ. Κωνσταντίνου 48) Η εκδήλωση, η οποία εντάσσεται στο πλαίσιο της πανευρωπαϊκής εβδομάδας εορτασμού των 10 χρόνων επιτυχούς λειτουργίας του ΕRC (13-19 Μαρτίου 2017), διοργανώνεται από το ΕΚΤ σε συνεργασία με τη Γενική Γραμματεία Έρευνας και Τεχνολογίας, με την υποστήριξη της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής και του Ευρωπαϊκού Συμβουλίου Έρευνας. Στην εκδήλωση, ο εκπρόσωπος του Ευρωπαϊκού Συμβουλίου Έρευνας Δρ Θ. Παπάζογλου θα παρουσιάσει τη συμβολή του ERC στον Ευρωπαϊκό Χώρο Έρευνας καθώς και τις αναμενόμενες προκηρύξεις, ενώ ο Καθηγητής Ν. Ταβερναράκης, μέλος του Επιστημονικού Συμβουλίου Έρευνας του ERC & Προέδρος του Ιδρύματος Τεχνολογίας και Έρευνας θα μιλήσει για τα ερευνητικά προγράμματα του ERC και τη συμβολή τους στη στρατηγική ανάπτυξης της Έρευνας και της Καινοτομίας στην Ελλάδα. O Καθηγητής Γ. Κόλλιας, Πρόεδρος και Επιστημονικός Διευθυντής του Ερευνητικού Κέντρου Βιοϊατρικών Επιστημών "Αλ. Φλέμιγκ", θα παρουσιάσει τη συμβολή του Προγράμματος του ERC στη στρατηγική ανάπτυξης ενός Οργανισμού Υποδοχής. Ο Δρ Γ. Χουρδάκης Ειδικός Επιστημονικός Σύμβουλος (Γραφείο του Αναπληρωτή Υπουργού Έρευνας & Καινοτομίας) θα παρουσιάσει το Ελληνικό Ίδρυμα Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας (ΕΛΙΔΕΚ), έναν νέο θεσμό στήριξης της "Επιστημονικής Αριστείας" για νέους και έμπειρους ερευνητές. Επιτυχημένοι υποψήφιοι του προγράμματος ERC θα παρουσιάσουν τη συμβολή του προγράμματος ERC στη σταδιοδρομία των ερευνητών και χρήσιμες συμβουλές για την προετοιμασία και την υποβολή ανταγωνιστικών προτάσεων. Επίσης, θα παρουσιαστούν οι υπηρεσίες του ΕΚΤ ως Εθνικό Σημείο Επαφής για το πρόγραμμα του ERC, καθώς και οι απαιτήσεις του Ορίζοντα 2020 για την Ανοικτή Πρόσβαση στις επιστημονικές δημοσιεύσεις και τα ερευνητικά αποτελέσματα. The National Documentation Centre (EKT) invites you to the conference on
10 years of European Research Council (ERC) which will take place on
Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at 09.00-14.30 in Athens at the National Hellenic Research Foundation (Auditorium
Av. Zervas, Bas. Konstantinou 48) The event, which is part of
a week-long celebration of 10 years of successful operation of the ERC
(13-19 March 2017), is organized by the ECB in cooperation with the General
Secretariat for Research and Technology, with support from the European
Commission and the European Research Council. In the event, the
representative of the European Research Council Dr. Th. Papazoglou will
present the contribution of ERC to the European Research Area, while Professor N. Tavernarakis, member of the
Scientific Research Council ERC & Chairman of Research and Technology
Institute will talk about the research activities of the ERC and
their contribution to the development strategy of Research and
Innovation in Greece. Professor C. O. Kollias, President and Scientific
Director of the Biomedical Sciences Research Center "Al. Fleming", will
present the contribution of the ERC Program in the development strategy
of a Host Agency. Dr. C. Chourdakis Special Scientific Advisor (Office
of the Deputy Minister for Research & Innovation) will present the Greek
Foundation for Research and Innovation (ELIDEK), a new institution of
"Scientific Excellence support" for new and experienced researchers.
Successful candidates of ERC program will present the contribution of
the ERC program in their careers as well as tips for preparing and
submitting competitive proposals. Also, the EKT services will be
presented as a National Contact Point for the ERC program and the
requirements of Horizon 2020 for Open Access to scientific publications

Hi Simon, I am sorry for this.. This information was provided to me by the National Contact Point, and I just forwarded it to the alumni. Also, unfortunately, both events that I posted are held in Greek. Again, my apologies..
It might be helpful if you could provide at least a summary in English, as few members speak Greek?
