Marie Curie Reception Success A successful reception was held for Marie Curie fellows, their supervisors and interested members of the university at the University of York on 19 April 2016. The location was the Treehouse of the Humanities Research Centre. Fellow across departments and across universities (York, Brunel, and Nottingham) met, mingled and exchanged information about their experiences over wine and snacks. We had a turn-out of 31 persons, among them 14 MC Fellows (current, former and future fellows from York, Brunel and Nottingham); 6 Marie Curie “Early Stage Researchers” (PhD students), and 11 other participants including 3 Chairs of Research Committees and 1 Head of Department. Uk group member Elizabeth Evenden briefly presented a project. She is looking for MSCA researchers in the Arts and Humanities who are 1) working in that area only, or 2) who collaborate with STEM and/ or Social Science researchers, or 3) for STEM / SS researchers seeking collaboration with Arts and Humanities scholars. Elizabeth is the European Editor for the journal Arts and Humanities in Higher Education (ahh.sagepub.com), an ideal vehicle for discussing research-led teaching and HE activities. They run an advocacy hub on the web (http://www.artsandhumanities.org/), where she is going to run a feature showcasing excellence in MSCA-funded research/teaching. This feature will include brief interviews with fellows and also vodcasts of them discussing their research. The York Marie Curie meeting will, it is hoped, get the ball rolling for future events at other universities. Please contact me if you would to organize something anywhere in the UK. One idea is to set up another event in London! Stefan
