REGISTRATION IS STILL OPEN...
REGISTRATION IS STILL OPEN! 106 PEOPLE ARE PLANNING TO ATTEND ! Invitation for present and former Marie Curie researchers and their supervisors. Marie Curie Alumni Association Dear all, we are pleased to announce that the first general meeting of the UK CHAPTER will take place in at University College London on Saturday, 4 March 2017. Our MCAA events committee, consisting of 10 present and former MC researchers, has been working hard to put together a varied and exciting programme. More details will be announced soon, but I can reveal the highly attractive keynote speaker: Professor Richard Catlow, Foreign Secretary of the Royal Society. Topics to be addressed will include "Strengthening Academic Connections in Europe" and "Beyond Brexit: International Collaboration and Communication in Science and Humanities". There will also be workgroups on “Problems & Fixes” (discussing problems which you as MC researchers encounter or have encountered), "Training: Impact and Engagement” , and "Career Development: Your Next Step” for both PhD and Experienced Researchers. Lastly, we will move on to a pub and engage in a social “Marie Curie Slam", where some of you will have the opportunity to give 3-minute presentations of their chosen topics to be discussed and judged by our friendly crowd. This meeting will give all of you the opportunity to meet like-minded international scholars, share your experiences, discuss academic collaboration after Brexit, make new friends, and even get help for your future career planning. There will also be an opportunity to speak with the friendly and highly motivated members of our events committee about organizing further events across the UK! Our idea is that you spend Saturday at the meeting and can then enjoy London on the Sunday (if you are travelling alone, perhaps exploring the city together with some of the new connections you made on Saturday). Any questions, please ask!
