I am pleased to forward this request for help:
Myself Jaganth recently got selected under HyFiSyn Marie curie project as an ESR. I need information regarding to apply for VISA. While applying for Visa I need COS certificate from host Institute
My host institute is the company, they don't have authorized to issue cos. But where I registered my Ph.D. had the registered to issue the Cos to me. Now the question is the university has to give COS to me?
Thanks in Advance

Thank you for the information. Liz
Hi
I think you are talking about a CAS (confirmation of acceptance to study). The study part is with the university and most/ many universities hold "trusted sponsor" status for issuing study visas. My understanding is that's the CAS is the first step in getting the visa, which I think would normally be a tier 4 visa for students from outside the EU. So yes, if that's what you mean it should come from the university. It is much more complex to get a visa to work in the U.K.
i hope that helps
